Interactive Panels Now in Every Primary Classroom

Installation is complete: every Primary classroom at OLIS now has an interactive display panel.

The point of the investment is not the hardware. It is what our teachers have agreed to do with it. The panels are used as a shared working surface the children come up and touch, not as a screen the class watches. A typical phonics session now has four or five students at the board within the first ten minutes.

Staff completed training on the panels through the last term, and each section has agreed a simple rule: if a lesson would work as well on paper, it stays on paper. The screen is for the things paper cannot do - moving a shape, sorting a set, hearing a sound repeated as often as a child needs it.
