Annual Sports Meet 2025-26

Sports Day at OLIS is built on one principle: participation before placings. Every child on the rolls takes part in at least one event, and the youngest classes run the full length of the track to applause whether they finish first or last.

The morning opens with the march past and the lighting of the torch, followed by the Pre-Primary events - balance races, ball-and-bucket relays and the parents' race that is always the loudest ten minutes of the day. Primary events follow, including the sprint finals, relays and the inter-house tug of war.

House points from the term's inter-class matches are carried into the day, so the overall championship is decided by the whole year's effort rather than a single morning.

Parents are asked to be seated by 8.15 am. Water and shade are provided on the ground, and the programme finishes with prize distribution before lunch.
